The space

The Palm Grove is the island's largest open space: a lawn of soft grass under a canopy of old coconut palms, a few steps back from the western beach. For weddings we string it with lanterns and set long tables for sixty; for families it becomes a beach barbecue with a fire pit and a band. It is sheltered from the wind and lit by the moon, and it is the space we use when the whole island is invited.

Hire terms

A 30% deposit holds the date. Hire covers the setting, décor and transfers to the sandbank; food, drink, music and photography are quoted separately. Weddings in the Maldives are celebrations rather than legal ceremonies for non-Muslim guests.
