The room
The eight Sunset Water Retreats sit at the far end of the western boardwalk, where the lagoon deepens to a darker blue and the sun goes down directly in front of the deck.
They are built on two levels. Downstairs is the bedroom, with a king bed beneath a roof that slides open to the stars, a sitting room with a daybed big enough for two, and a bathroom with a freestanding bath, an outdoor shower and a glass panel in the floor through which you can watch the reef fish at night. Upstairs, a rooftop deck has a dining table, a telescope and loungers for watching the sky go orange, then pink, then black.
And then there is the slide: a curving water slide that runs from the upper deck straight into the lagoon. Children love it; most adults try it once out of curiosity and then cannot stop.
The 11-metre private pool, overwater hammock net and steps into the sea complete it. Sleeps two adults and one child.
